Fintech and billing SaaS

Fintech SaaS development for billing and payment products

We build subscription billing, invoicing and payment dashboards on Stripe, with accurate records, roles and audit logs. You own the code and accounts.

  • Stripe subscriptions and webhooks
  • Audit trails and approvals
  • Compliance stays with you

What fintech and billing SaaS can we build?

We build software that sits around money flows: the product that charges customers, issues invoices and shows people where their money went. Typical projects include:

  • Subscription and usage-based billing for another SaaS product
  • Invoicing, quotes and payment collection tools for small businesses
  • Expense, approval and payout workflows
  • Reconciliation and reporting dashboards for finance teams
  • Customer portals for plans, invoices and payment methods

These are usually multi-tenant products, so each customer sees only its own data. A lean first release can follow our SaaS MVP development approach, and a larger platform our custom SaaS development process.

How do we handle subscription billing logic?

Billing looks simple until real customers arrive. We build on Stripe Billing and write the surrounding logic carefully: plan changes and proration, trials, coupons, tax settings, failed payments and retries, cancellations and refunds.

Webhooks are processed so that a repeated or out-of-order event does not charge or credit anyone twice. We test these paths with Stripe's test mode and written scenarios before launch, and we document who owns each edge case so support is not guessing later.

How do we keep money data accurate?

Money is stored as whole amounts in the smallest currency unit, never as floating-point numbers. Transactions are recorded as entries that are added and not edited, so the history can be audited. Balances are calculated from those entries or checked against them.

We add reconciliation jobs that compare your records with the payment provider's reports and flag differences for a person to review. Every sensitive action, such as a refund or a payout approval, is tied to a user and written to an audit log, and roles decide who can do what.

We use hosted payment fields or hosted checkout from the payment provider, so card numbers do not pass through your servers. That keeps your PCI scope smaller, though you still have obligations to confirm with your provider.

The rest is standard careful engineering: encryption in transit and at rest, secrets kept out of the code, single sign-on and multi-factor sign-in where needed, and least-privilege access for staff.

What are the limits and risks?

We build software. We do not give legal or financial advice, we do not hold your customers' funds, and we do not act as a licensed payment institution. Whether your product needs a licence, KYC and AML checks, or specific tax handling depends on your country and your model, and you are responsible for that. A lawyer who knows financial regulation should review the plan.

Billing mistakes cost real money, and testing reduces that risk without removing it. Payment providers can also change terms, hold funds or close accounts, and that is a matter between you and the provider.

Questions about saas dev agency in United States

Do you only work with Stripe?

Stripe is our default for subscriptions because of its tooling and documentation. We can integrate other providers, for example for regional payment methods, when your market needs them. Each provider has its own rules and onboarding, and we scope that work separately in the written quote.

Can you build a product that holds or moves customer funds?

We can build the software layer, but holding or moving funds is usually a regulated activity. Most teams use a licensed provider for that part. We do not operate money services ourselves, and you would need to confirm the legal setup for your country before launch.

How do you test billing before it goes live?

We use the provider's test mode, written scenarios for upgrades, downgrades, failed cards and refunds, and automated tests around webhook handling. We then run a small live check with your approval. This lowers the chance of surprises, but it cannot promise that no edge case will ever appear.

Can the product support several currencies and taxes?

Yes, within what the payment provider supports. Multi-currency pricing and tax collection add rules that vary by country, so we define the markets first and confirm tax obligations with your accountant before building. We build the settings and records, not the tax advice.

What does a fintech or billing build cost?

It depends on scope. Typical ranges are $7,500 to $12,500 for a lean MVP sprint of about 4 weeks and $18,000 to $35,000 for a production B2B SaaS over 8 to 12 weeks. A written quote follows a scoping conversation. See pricing for details.
